Kolkata amazes with its ‘odd’ pairing of enthusiastic festivities and unhurried modus vivendi. This photograph taken near a bustling Durga Puja pandal has a hand-rickshaw puller relaxing upon his parked vehicle beside a decorated road. As he lazes, an excited milieu of people walks past him along the decorated alley.
The Goddess Descends
The Durga Puja festival is a grand celebration in Kolkata (India). This photograph shows an elegant ornately designed bronze-colored idol of the Mother placed within a splendidly decorated pandal. The Goddess is seen holding different weapons in her ten hands as she steps on the chest of Lord Shiva.
